Got this Zancudo today.

Not impressed.

The detent is so stiff, if it flips open too hard I need to use two hands to close the damn thing because the lock is so stiff I can barely budge it with my holding hand's thumb. :rolleyes:

I switched the clip to tip up carry and I swear it made it more difficult to open.

Definitely give it some time. I hated mine at first but because it was a gift from my wife I stuck it out, all of the problems you mentioned worked themselves out after a few weeks of playing with it- the sticky lock, the detent strength. I'm sure it will get better. Mine isn't one of my favorites or anything but I carry it quite a bit and I actually really like the little thing.

Thanks. I gotta say the Rat 2 is awesome now, and awesome right out of the box - no adjustment period needed.

I'll give the Zancudo time though.
 
Spyderco southard with CF scales.

I've carried it since last week and plan on it until it's edge is worthy of being called sharp. I keep my stones at work nowadays.

I like it a lot. The detent on mine is perfect, not hard to open at all. The lock sticks a little bit but other than that it is a great piece.

Yep, I'm not really versed in the old cold steels, but I'm pretty sure that's one of the Gen. 1 AK-47s with aluminum and and ultra lock, I've wanted one for awhile. :)
