Bust out the crazy glue! Great knife, by the way. Is that a 3" blade?

3.5", but the knife is smaller than my XM-18. They're a great pair to alternate, each one really makes me appreciate the other. The Hinderer has the weakest detent I've ever had, and the Curtiss has the strongest!

I'm gonna be honest, I am torn between these two knives. I want one of these ZT's and I can't make up my mind. Erik, what do you think about your 0566? How does it compare to the 0550? And Dabble, do you think the 0550 is the reliable tank everyone makes it out to be? Thank you for your insight, gentlemen.

I really like the 566, but it is quite a bit different than the 550. The 550 is much thicker and more robust, where the 566 is thinner and more pocket friendly. I believe they are close to the same length. Of course the obvious difference is the 556 is a flipper and assisted (although I de-assisted mine).

Thank you for the response, man. This year will be my first ZT purchase and I'm leaning toward the 0550 at the moment. Your pic looks great, though haha.

I've gone through the 0350, 0200, and the 0750 (and also handling briefly the 0560) before landing on the 0550 for my perfect edc. I haven't tried the 0566 yet, as I have other ducks I want to plink off before I go down that road. Plus I'm in line for the 801CF so hopefully that will fulfill the ZT cache for awhile.

The 0550 has been great for me, I have the 2nd gen, and love the low ride clip. The detent is perfect, and it deploys smoothly with a middle-finger-flick that I carried over from Spyderco. I did it unintentionally one day with the 0550 and it was like magic. I just stuck my middle finger on the thumbstud and "floik" out it went. I couldn't be happier with this purchase from ZT. I can only hope the 801CF is just as good.
