This model was finally in stock (for a few hours) so I had to get one. I plan on making it my primary EDC in place of the blue Blade HQ 10th anniversary version I have been carrying.

Went to Savannah, Georgia. Real nice, but didn't want to trust an expensive knife making it to my hotel. So, I ordered a Buck 110 for 28 bucks and figured it would take good care of me,.....and man I'm loving this thing. Solid lockup, beafy profile, starting to patina on the brass, and overall just a tank. Real authority when it locks, sound is just wicked. Made it there and back, stuffed in a sock inside my shoe so that if some thief wanted it they were going to have to work for it.

I did the same thing when I flew last month, except I left the 110 with my pops. Buck 110 is the bomb. :thumbup:
 
my cryo a, schrade sch307, and my cold steel, minitac kiradashi neck knife, with the xml2 t6 3.04 amp ultrafire wf502b light(easy 900 plus lumens for under 30 bucks i dont get why people spend 20 300 on a light).

Probably because there are better lights for under $100, with better switches, light patterns, waterproof and so on, that you don't have to mod for yourself... :D

I very much enjoy building my own lights, my current favorites are my pair of direct drive convoy C8's (one 3.8A XM-L2 @1250 OTF, the other limited by wire size to 2.8A de-domed XP-E2, around 450 OTF but >120,000Cd) however I'm also very much attracted to off-the-shelf lights too.

I also have my buddy NCCNC making me a single 123 body for my modded fenix E21 head and P60 clicky tail cap (it's got a copper mounted XP-E2).


Notice both lights are on, the ZL is in the lowest low (0.3lm) mode.
 
It is actually a heat coloring done by the previous owner. That is how there are different shades of blue/purple. I believe he said it was done with a propane torch or something similar.

They look very nice. It must be a lot of fun and definitely rewarding to be able to do it...
I don't have time for another contagious thing like building flashlights, my knife and guns addiction takes enough toll, but one day... :D
