Erik, did you do something to your scales to bring out the texture and color variation, or is that just from use? I love the weathered look it has. Mine is supposed to be the same material as yours, though it looks so new and uniform in comparison:

This material is called "Brown Vintage Micarta", it came with the weathered look, although it has darkened quite a bit from the oils in my hand.

Thank you A.L., there were green and black ones with the red shield special ordered from Victorinox Denmark in 2013. I was lucky enough to buy both from another member here on BF.
 
Just added this to my carry...
