heres my benchmade 586 mini-barrage, its the only high end knife that i own besides my traditional case knife collection of about 30. but i do not use any of those.

this is my EDC until i take the plunge at buying another one.

right now im trying to decide on another benchmade or a ZT 0550 or similar smaller version

i would like to customize it a little bit, is there any accessory websites out there? im new to this so forgive my ignorance!

edit: i am an expert photographer.. :barf:

Damn that thing is awesome! Love me some Rat 1. Who made the blade?
A knife-maker in Bulgaria, a guy that I got in touch with via another knife forum there.
He's specialties are custom blades for well known, proven designs, that the owners like to have the blades in better steel or slightly modified geometry. He doesn't do lots of knifes but the one he does are solid and very useful.
This-one was sort of my design, I like the wharnie blade and wave, he did also some CF scales, you see the result...
He did excellent job, I think, blade's hardened to 62.4HRC :D
Here few knifes he made, some original designs, some orders, some re-makes:

Thanks for sharing! Good looking stuff all around but that Rat is still the cream of the crop in my book.

I've lurked this forum on and off since about 2009 and I just decided to make an account today. I don't actually carry a knife because I don't have any use for it, and I'm not a big fan of folders. However, I am thinking about buying one of those cheap Bear Grylls survival knives for the purpose of punching out windows and cutting seat belts, just as a safety tool on my car. I guess you might be able to consider that an EDC.

All these "EDC" knives and hardly any of them look as if they have been used at all.

Why would they? What do you do with your knives every day that cause wear and tear? Here's a rundown of what I use my EDC knives to cut:

- envelopes
- the tape on boxes (which usually contain new knives)
- food
- loose threads on clothing
- arm-hair
- paracord
- paper

These are the main victims on any sort of daily basis. If a knife shows wear after cutting any of those materials, then Houston, we have a problem. But hey, nice use of the air quotes to try to insult people. Or am I misreading your inference that people aren't actually using the knives they show in this thread? If so, I apologize for taking it the wrong way.

I've had this in my pocket since I received it over a week ago. Because it is light and thin, it works great in shorts also.
