EDC III Which knife or knives are you carrying today?

Nobody gets more insulted than knife users on this forum, even with the slightest bit of criticism its almost an insult to a way of life. Calm down.

I believe plenty of people are not using their knives, even more so than the ones who actually do use them. Most of these knives don't even carry a scratch, and yes, blades are not impervious to wear n tear from even pocket carry (I know, cause even titanium on a Sebenza scratches easily). And how many envelopes, tape on boxes, loose thread of clothing, parachord and ... arm hair do you go through every day? Please.

I love knives, but I see it for what it is and what many people really use it for: Male jewelry. Yes, I use mine to cut, but in this day and age there really is a limited requirement for a knife, as is shown in these 'Show us your 'EDC' knife' posts.

Why would they? What do you do with your knives every day that cause wear and tear? Here's a rundown of what I use my EDC knives to cut:

- envelopes
- the tape on boxes (which usually contain new knives)
- food
- loose threads on clothing
- arm-hair
- paracord
- paper

These are the main victims on any sort of daily basis. If a knife shows wear after cutting any of those materials, then Houston, we have a problem. But hey, nice use of the air quotes to try to insult people. Or am I misreading your inference that people aren't actually using the knives they show in this thread? If so, I apologize for taking it the wrong way.

62 posts despite having joined in June of last year. Huh, I see now. You seem to be a huge troll, so I won't feed you further. Go find somewhere else to try to get a rise out of folks. Have a nice evening.

I'm surprised you even manage to get rise out of my comment, which is nothing but a small observation. You can't even do up a proper response without basically going "Not talking to you nananananana!". Nice.

And FYI: I frequent here every day, but due to an error in the system I am only able to post when at work (and I got things to do when I'm here). Despite contacting several admins about this problem I get no response or help. But its ok that you assume, rather than having a clue. The fact that you try to correlate my knife interest to the number of posts I got on this forum (what?) tells me more about your level of maturity than anything else.

Gotta love the irony of a guy who came into this thread and attempted to call out everyone who was actually participating in the thread out as being a bunch of posers who are just showing off "man jewelry" they don't actually use (according to Cap'n NoPosts here), then having the audacity to question someone else's maturity. LOL Good times.

You can't post to this site except from work? I'm guessing that's because your company actually paid the cable bill this month. Have a good evening.

"You can't post to this site except from work? I'm guessing that's because your company actually paid the cable bill this month. Have a good evening." - Even I laugh at such poor attempt at humor. Jesus...

I made a small observation, which you seem to defend with the 'arm hair' response before you turned into an 8 year old... and then got your knickers in a twist about it. It wasn't an insult to anyone, but I can't help it if you feel that way.

Anyway, back on topic. I carried these two with me, and I actually cut everything I listed in my response above* with both of these:

I'm here to tell ya folks, that Peanut is SCARY sharp after a few passes on my Sharpmaker.

*Cap'n NoPosts disbelief of that is irrelevant.

I really have an intense dislike for people who get correctly called out on their nonsense and then try to act like a victim. "I was just making a small observation!" No, dude, you tried to call a bunch of people liars. Now then, either post up your knives you carried today, or go crap up some other thread with your white noise, mkay? Thank you. No one here wants to hear it or cares what you think of how we use our knives.

Alright fine, I am calling you out. Fact is most of these knives are not EDC at all and you were significantly insulted as a result. Now go open a few envelopes and shave your forearm, because that's obviously the type of user you are (and thats fine with me). Like knives to look at? Well so do I, but fact is most of these knives sit in a box. My 2 cents, deal with it.

Here's my limited para 2 after many weekends camping and fishing being the only knife I bother using.... it can do it all, I usually shred boxes and turn wood into kindling with this because I can :P, it also guts dinner and snips line. I've bashed on the spine plenty but there's nothing to show from that. I bought a regular digi/satin for if I ever break or lose this one. Last time I pulled it out my girlfriend got a picnic going in my truck with cheese and sausage. It's a knife, I have a couple I don't want to beat on, but the perfect look only lasts until it isn't my newest one.

The wear from the hard but appropriate use of this tool is really only visible with a blade close up. It looks perfect otherwise.

My sage 2 got some love as well...

That's just a beautiful picture, that CRK really jumps out of it

Gentlemen, lets get back on topic. EDC means EveryDay Carry. It doesn't mean beaten, worn, and wobbly. I have jewelry I wear daily and some of that is knives.

The topic is not each other. Insults will cease. NOW.
