That is a unique and awesome looking knife. After seeing your pic I instantly did a search for Alain Descy ..... R.I.P. Mr Descy, you made wonderful knives.

The coating is 85HRC and the edge is sharpened asymmetrically so that the coating is still present on the cutting edge.

The blade itself isn't 85HRC, I don't think that would even be possible.
