How'd the rep flipping going?
I know your a quick study.
My towels are getting ragged from after sharpening in the kitchen doing test cuts on them.
I really like the spanto looking blade on those.[/IMG]![]()
I love this one. After doing some work on it she's flips so smoothly. The only thing is the handles take a little getting used to. They don't twirl as easy as something like a 51. But for pretty basic flipping it does much better than I expected.I really like the spanto looking blade on those.
How's she flip?
This is exactly correct. I've cut myself twice in exactly the same spot. Both times fondling the knife while in deep thought and accidentally gripping on it too tight. The closed blade edge is very close to the edge of the handle scales. You might have tightened your grip too much on the knife and got the meat of your finger against the edge of the blade.
The blade on the sebenza comes insanel close to the spine of the handle when closed so look in there and see if you can touch the edge with your finger.
On my 25 I have to watch it sometimes when gripping the knife closed, but it doesn't really become an issue most of the time. It's the only downside to how slim the knife is overall. That blade has to hide somewhere
EDIT: sorry, misread what you said originally and posted a redundent first answer. Fixed it now.
That is the 2011 BF Traditional forum knife (#85 pattern) and is very hard to find. You can stay on the Traditionals Exchange and try to snag one (at an extravagant price, likely) or look for a similar knife called a "Crown Cap Lifter" or "Radio knife" (#15 pattern) in various configurations. Both knives are made by Great Eastern Cutlery in 1095 carbon steel and are of an extremely high quality.
