Andy Freedberg 1095 fixie, Marathon GSAR (watch), Strider SnG S30V, cheapo Japanese slip joint, Burt's Bees lip balm.
I found that slip joint buried in the sand when I was about 10 years old. It became my most prized possession. I thought that it had washed up on the shores from an old pirate ship. Little did I know that it was stamped "Stainless Steel", and is made in Japan. haha. I still carry it every now and then for fun.

Just got this in, and it immediately replaced the Umnumzaan in my pocket. I have a lot of knives, but this Andre Thorburn has me absolutely blown away! There's so many things this knife has going for it; and this flipping action! Oh man...
It's like I've been living on another planet this whole time!

If you haven't experienced Andres work before, I suggest you do so as fast as possible. This thing is amazing!

Those SOGs look nice. I've always felt they do a better job at fixed blades than folders. I wonder if you feel the same way?

Yeah, it's usually a lot easier to eliminate bladeplay from a fixed blade than a folder in terms of manufacturing... :foot::thumbup: My four SOG folders all have play both side to side and up & down. The fixed blades have none.

I was trying to go through him personally, but I had a hard time finding a way/time to call South Africa. Plus my emails were being rejected due to some network problem.

However, last week, Folder Friday came around, the stars aligned, and now here I sit with this beautiful piece of work!
