Just got back from celebrating my old man's birthday. We all had a great time. He really liked the Buck 55 I got him.

Here's the only pic I got of his new 55 with my 110. I'm gonna start bugging him to send me pics haha.

Great gift John!

I am carrying my GEC 99 today.

Crazy. Open combs are more commonly found in bees of the dorsata and laboriosa species (common to India and Nepal). But pretty uncommon among bees usually found in the US. It does happen, but it's rare. Very cool to see.

I thought so also! It was on a Father Daughter girlscout hike. It was in Mesa, AZ. About 2900 ft. elevation at the top where we found them. The sun doesn't hit until the afternoon, so when we got there most of the bees were just sleeping.

Thank you, Erik! He really liked my 110 but doesn't have the best hand strength these days. I figured the 55 would give him the looks he liked with easier action. I was right! He was playing with it and said he would put it to good use. Made me proud!

As for me, I've got the ol' Thermite in pocket today.

I think I may have found my perfect EDC for the foreseeable future :D
