not much more to add, there are some good options there. skeletool is light on the pliers, but if you break them, LM will replace them, no biggie. If you need other dedicated tools, then go for it, but I can't see anything else hitting your needs better than what the wave is now.
Indeed, I once snapped the pliers on a Skeletool CX, and although I'd bought it in the U.S., I just mailed it to the Leatherman distributor in the Netherlands and they sent me a new one, no questions asked. Leatherman's replace-everything policy can be heartbreaking if you have a problem with a discontinued tool, but the Skeletool CX doesn't look like it's going anywhere.
If you're curious about the differences among the three Skeletool models:
Skeletool: 420HC combo edge, slot for extra bit, no file, all-stainless finish
Skeletool CX: 154CM plain edge, slot for extra bit, no file, black stainless/CF finish
Skeletool SX: 420HC combo edge,
no slot for extra bit, diamond-coated file, black finish
The blade length is the same for all three, and at 2.6" is fairly small, but it gets the job done. If it's going to be replacing your main blade, I would definitely go for the CX with its plain edge in 154CM. If you don't care so much about the knife, the Skeletool vs the SX pretty much boils down to whether you'd prefer an extra bit or a file. Personally, I'd have preferred to see a Squirt-sized pair of scissors there, but Leatherman thinks you should just carry both, so I frequently pair mine with a Style PS.
