EDC philosophy explained.

Unfortunately, there is a lot of truth here. Reddit is pretty much the Wild West of the internet. It's heavy with left wing politics. As for the YouTubers, lately Metal Complex is about the worst of them. He isn't reviewing, he is trying to be an influencer. If I need to open a paint can, I find a big screwdriver. The flashlight on my iPhone is good enough.

OK, but what if you encounter a hostile beer bottle?

iphone?, sheesh a little spendy don't you think? I use the glow from my twenty year old Nokia flip phone when I need light. 😂🤣😂

I feel seen :)
I still carry a handkerchief that I pretty much never use. I always forget I have it. But I have really come to appreciate a dedicated flashlight. I use it about as much as my knife. More in the winter when days are short. A pen was much less useful as well since one is provided pretty much anywhere you would need one.

I carry a compact O light on my keys. Bright and rechargeable.

Apparently you've never needed to leave a ransom note in the middle of nowhere. That's when you'll appreciate your EDC of the SAK Compact, with it's onboard pressurized pen. Capable of leaving your note on blown trash....

I have not haha 😅
I have carried a pen off and on several times and even when I remembered having it there was a pen right in front of me to sign my receipt so I didn't bother using mine. Unlike a steak knife where I will shun the provided hand saw in favor of my razor edge slicer.

I do still really want a pen from tactile, so the sickness is not yet cured. I just picket up a tactile maverick and it needs a sidekick.

In all honesty, my edc was completely influenced by Jackknife. A small two bladed jack or Victorinox electrician, a Keychain flashlight, and a U.S. government retractable pen. This combo works for 99 percent of my daily life.
