I’ve done horrible things to my current carry EDC1.2
This poor little bastard is wearing unbuffed jorts. But because of use they are no longer unbuffed, and you can’t even tell they are/were jorts.
Also, due to the chemicals I am currently working around on a regular basis, combined with my negligent nature, I have actually gotten some minor rust (pepper spots) and some bigger spots from acid.

If'n you wanted the blue back, could try a good scrub with a brush under warm water (as hot as you can possibly stand) with some Dawn dish soap. It seems to work miracles sometimes.

That’s a very handsome EDC 1.2 with a swedge and satin grind.
I missed the boat on my pre-order by not ordering at least one with a swedge. Is yours sharpened on top or a false edge? Either way, it looks sexier with that detail added. You did good scoring that one!

on the concern about not wanting to put the first scar on a pretty knife because it stands out more. The idea of that makes me think of how hard it would be to wear a tuxedo on a camping trip and hoping it stays clean and pressed when I get home.

That is not relaxing to me.Despite having a couple of beautiful satin ground knives myself, the vast majority of my CPK purchases are the standard tumbled stonewash finish because they are made for working on day one. Stonewashed is a better match for my life uniform of jeans and a t-shirt because I know that the inevitable wear and tear on basic things I enjoy using are just “character marks” rather than ugly scars on the Queen.
