This came in the mail yesterday from CPK. I scored it at the Friday June 20 sale. I like the double black canvas micarta more than expected, probably more than the vintage micarta EDC I got at Blade Show last month (my first Carothers!) . Neither knife has yet to cut anything. Trying to decide which will be a user and which a safe queen?

My vip micarta scales have definitely darkened.

It would be cool though if the VIP darkened to the Natural color of the top pic, and yet still continued to show all the different shades and contrast.

My VIP is getting darker but not as quickly as the VIP on my FK2. I think it’s because the contours and gripping aren’t as pronounced as on the BFK scales.

They will. This is what mine started as. I let them sit in the sun for a day and then went about using the knife and they changed pretty quick.

I’ve never had the jorts buffed before as Jo didn’t recommend. This one she didn’t say it to and said it looks good buffed so thought I’d try it. As with all buffed it does take away from grip.

It looks very nice and unique too.

I’ve found out that with the buffed, simply using sweaty wet gloves, or even just wetting down the buffed scales, it adds to a sticky type grip.

The Burlap gets incredibly sticky.

Yours is the very first (Jorts) I have seen buffed, and I will certainly have it done on a future selection, if available.
