I got a ton of stuff done out in the yard today. Used my Skeletool quite a bit for various tasks.

In all honesty I just got the knife this week so I don't have extensive experience with the steel yet. The "coating" is VERY durable though. Reason I can say that is because I've opened and closed the knife over a hundred times already and there's not a mark on the back of the tang that rubs against the lockbar hard. I say "coating" because it doesn't actually feel or look like a coating, it's semi transparant and looks almost like an anodizing of some kind? Maybe someone else can shed some light on that.

From what I've read CTS-XHP sits somewhere along the lines of a stainless D2 or hardened 440C which to me was enough of a theoretical upgrade over AUS8a to warrant a purchase.
 
My 0550BLK got a makeover thanks to BellaBlades and an Australian fellow who makes nice hardware.
