Very cool, the ONLY thing keeping me from buying that knife [Spyderco K2] is the hole looks to be a tad too close to the spine of the blade.

You are right the that Spydie hole is very close to the spine, but the upside is that the Spydie hole is fully accessible when the blade is closed. I have grudge against occluded Spydie holes (e.g., Spyderco Gayle Bradley and others) and the K2's hole placement alleviates that issue. The thumb falls naturally on the Spydie hole, and to me the placement seems to be in just the right place. I would prefer that it had a steel insert on the lockbar, but I can't say that the absence of one has ever given me a problem on any titanium framelock, perhaps because I baby my knives. The hidden lockbar stabilizer is sweet. But the K2 is one of those knives that is big on the outside at 10" unfurled, yet is thin and unobtrusive in the pocket. The best of both worlds. And the CPM V10 is supposed to hold a killer edge under hard usage, though I have never pushed mine enough to find out. I recommend this knife for anyone who is on the fence, and am a little surprised that it hasn't received more love in the forums. The lanyard hole on the "wrong" end of the knife (for extraction purposes) makes no sense. But its a big knife, and not inexpensive, so that's part of the calculus too.

The manix pulled morel duty today. The weight of this thing compared to some of my other knives makes it a great warm weather carry.

Relaxing after a successful mothers' day BBQ. Customs and midtechs be darned.. my two all-time favorites.

Some outstanding pics today. This was my simple EDC today, going for subtle class while honoring my mother and wife today:
