Phone died. How much $ you spend on a light and what kinds of lights do you got? What do they do that these dont? I mean besides being brighter out to little further distances are brighter? I guess it's 5he same with blades "oh you could do more or less the same thing with cheaper knife" what have you. I don't know much about lights but have had $100-150 lights pass through my hands and I wasn't very impressed. One was a surefire, other was fenix. They got very hot and didnt get that much brighter or shine that much further than these.I don't understand dishing out that kind of $ for something that I can get something similar for $3. But like with anything else everybody has those things they just gotta have and has to be "perfection". That's knives for me. Even though plenty I have would some still not consider "good" either. I ate beans and hotdogs for dinner. I'm just living the dream:rolleyes: All ive really got is a pile of knives and a few guns (oh and a new outdated SG4 that im happy with) If you got a pic of what a more expensive light can do over these would like to see. Or maybe not. Might have another material addiction and won't have dough for tobbacer and beans.

Ha, ya. If you're like me, maybe not is right.. As for my light collection and choices I'd say it's much like my desire for a good blade. I consider all of the same aspects, obviously outright performance is a part of that , but when you use and carry a certain tool all of the time as I do with my lights you start to appreciate all of the little nuances, features and so on. For starters,I like a light that performs far outside of its expectations for it's size and weight, that would be my 4 sevens preon1 (aluminium and ti) our my thrunite ti3 our my aaa light hound. Most have upgraded custom titanium clips and tail switches. Then there's the next size up which is fact becoming the most impressive and competitive arena in lights is the aa platform. I have and carry everything from a $75 dollar titanium eagle tac to a $455 mcgizmo haiku (semi custom, bomb proof, full titanium). It's not necessarily that they are just brighter, which I would venture to say they are by a large margin, but they are far superior materials, design, feel, aesthetics, reliability, performance vs size and weight, also the quality of the beam and the color of the beam. Basically, just like with the blades, the more you know the more you appreciate and the more you're willing to spend to get that experience.. ironically though you mentioned the two brands I am probably least fond if ( bring on the rock throwing ). Lol. I don't think they perform who enough at the price point compared to other competitors, could be why you weren't impressed. Of course if you hand a non knife guy a big schrade fixed blade and a busse I'm he'd share a similar sentiment. Tried posting pics of done but I guess imgur is down.

Maybe! It's like saying a $20-50 folder will do the same things as a Sebenza. While that statement is true in many ways, it is also false in many other ways;)
I can't argue that. Pretty sure most people think a lot of the knives I own are way too expensive. Just all about what you like I guess .

Oooohhh, what model is that?

I am going to have to keep my eye out for a Whaler and Lumber Jack now also.

Good luck with that! They go on the auction site for upwards of $200 except the real ugly ones :D The whaler literally dwarfs the sunfish you got!

I figure today is a good day for some traditionals in 1095.
