Any other specs you care to share about your custom regrind? You went from what spec to what specs? [emoji41]

Went from crappy obtuse dull factory edge, to screamin' sharp convex edge. Im not sure of the exact new angle because I did it freehand, and it's convex. I just know it's stupid sharp now.

I've been sharpening free hand for years and years, however this is the first time I've ever done a complete re-profile free hand. I would throw out the Lansky, but I actually really like the ceramic stones for freehand.

Chilling before work with the new addition.

That knife is ugly and stupid, but I would be willing to take it off your hands to save you from the grief of owning it. Just send it to me, and I won't even charge you for the service. ;)

Great stuff, have you dabbled with the mousemat yet...:)

No I've never used one. I should probably try it some time, but I've been using stones since I was a kid, and I'm 49 now, so I'm pretty comfortable with the stones, no matter the grind. Although using other materials might make it faster and easier, the time, patience, and concentration involved is actually relaxing and fulfilling for me.

Even for quick stropping I use a very fine ceramic stone.

Here's a closeup of the new edge, not a total mirror, but I always leave them just a little bit toothy.

Nice. Get that Mini Ritter Grip you were looking for ?
Put me down for 3 of those Sebenzas you speak of. :D

not yet - waiting for some standoffs that I should hopefully receive any day now.

yeah I'd be first in line for that Sebenza.

More Micarta in my pocket today

thanks - it's a Boker Arctos (Jens Anso design)

I thought it was one of the Anso's. How do you like it?

I have the Anso designed Minos, and it is outstanding! I really love that knife. Near prefect fit, finish and function. From what I read about Boker, that may be rare, however, Ive had no problems from the 3 Bokers I own, except for the Kwaiken, but those issues are with the design more than the quality.

I would put my Minos up against any other knife I own in terms of quality. It's a Solingen made model, not from the Plus line. Maybe that makes a difference, although my Boker Plus War Toad is also excellent, and It's made in China, so I don't know.

Sorry about the ramble, too much coffee today. :)

I've only had it for a week but so far love it. It's a bit thick in the pocket, but feels great in hand.

I didn't like the huge thumb stud so I replaced it.

I have several Anso design and this one (in addition to my 67) is my favorite.
