EDC - What did your knife do today???

Being in LE, rarely a day goes by that I don't use one of my blades for something work related.

I have cut seatbelts at wrecks, cut off bumpers of cars, used the Leatherman Surge to change tags and do light mechanic work on cars, etc.

But today was a great knife day. I opened a toxicology letter, cut up an apple, and sliced up my chicken on my Chick fil A southwestern salad...with spicy dressing, mind you.

Still at work so I doubt my slippie won't come out of the pocket again. Carrying a Case medium stockman amber bone with CV blades today.....and I just stropped her up nice last night watching the tube. She's slicing through everything today with ease.

She's teamed up with a Spyderco Teancious and the LM Surge.

Yesterday my Kabar Dozier Spear Point opend the boxes of paper for our printers and copy machine. Also cut away the front of the boxes so that acess to new paper would be easier. I have been cutting the greens for my lunch at work as well this week with it.

I used my Alox Cadet to scrape paint from a hydraulic pump tag so that I could read it, then I cleaned the blade with alcohol wipes and cut up some grilled chicken breast for my lunch salad.

2 envelopes felt the wrath of my Queen Country Cousin today, as did a thick piece of grilled chicken. They had it coming!

My knife got up early and fixed me a delicious breakfast of bacon, eggs, hash browns and white toast drenched with melted butter. My knife is trying to kill me.

Cut some caulking out of seams in a teak deck after my cheapo razor knife broke.
Pulled a few splinters out.
Cleaned out the corner of a joint that my chisels were too fat to fit into. It did the job quite nicely, too.
Sliced some corrugated PVC board to size to create a dust shield/retainer before I made about 30lbs of dust.
Cut the tags off of the squeeky stuffed duck toy that my dog just grabbed off of the shelf at the pet store... how could I say no to him?
Flicked open and closed at least 100 times today (so far) just to work on being pretty slick with my baby.
The small Seb 21... what a beaut!

Used these two to package up some some stuff, open some envelopes and open and close the Mnandi to enjoy the noise it makes. Used the GEC when other people were around to be less scary.

I have been using my CS American Lawman for cutting up boxes, slicing oranges, killing steak, and other odds and ends :)

My compliments on a great shot, lwt. Normally I am not too fond of a patina, but on that Case it looks like it belongs.

Today I used my CSAR-T to laser through some zip ties, open a couple of feed bags and remove one of those damned foil sealers on a bottle of pills.

Hey A.P.F., can you tell me how you have made your signature knife shot. Did you just shop the background to the bladeforums blue or did you have some sort of bright background that you can quickly edit to any background?

Today my Spyderco Urban unboxed my Spyderco UKPK orange-10. A.L. I believe he used whitebox with multiple light source and/or bounced camera light from the white boxes roof avoid direct reflections.

Lately mine has been used for cutting open tape and cardboard, trimming vulcanized fiber material, trimming wood, removing calluses, opening envelopes, slitting plastic on tv dinners, and opening packages of bits.

Used the sheep's foot blade on my large RR canoe (my beater folder) to cut away the gaskets sealing a bathtub drain, and then scrape off the caulk. Genuine knife abuse at its finest.

The original shot was an advertising promo that I 'borrowed'. The original was on a white background with the 'drop shadow'. Because I use Linux, my image manipulation program is known as Gimp, but it is very similar to PS.

The process of adding a 'seamless' image to my sig was quite simple. Using the 'magic' wand selection tool, click on the original white background. Next, change your foreground color to the HTML notation F5F5FF, which will give you the exact color of the Blade Forums background. Finally, do a 'bucket fill' in the previously selected white area.

And yes, A.L., wherever possible I go with a white background so I can drop the image anywhere. I have become such a lazy sod in my old age. ;)

Mama and filly are both doing great. This baby was up on her own walking around and suckling so fast it was incredible. She hardly wobbled around at all, amazing.

Only had to use my knife to cut open a new hay bale, but was glad to have my new Driftwoodwalker at hand.

Those are great shots, BB. I can't really explain it, but seeing a foal come into the world gives me hope for the future.

Nice pictures. Thanks for sharing. When I first saw those pictures I thought "Uh oh what did he have to use a knife for in that situation? C-Section? Umbilcle cord?".
