EDC - What's In Your Pocket(s)??? Part 2

I was curious also, I was a facilities mechanic and tradesman who learned to pick locks for work at mom's salvage yard and it carried over into my career as a maintenance mechanic. One of the jobs of a facility mechanic is to take care of security and the locks, picking desks, and file cabinets was a daily occurrence with the occasional car door entry for someone who locked their key in their car. Nowadays with Bluetooth and onstar type services all you need is a phone and a pin # to get in.

It's quickly becoming a lost art and the funny thing is there is more free info and how too videos for free teachin' you how to not only pick/bypass locks but make your own tools to do it.

This is my pocket set that always goes with me in my BOB, I have a much bigger set for my toolbox and several smaller wallet packs and a pair of pick jacks one on my keyring and the other tucked into my wallet.

That's really interesting, thanks for the read!
And there's also translucent padlocks and such where you can see how things work in case you want to learn that way.

What is the carbon fiber traditional style knife in this photo?
That is the boker tech tool... city 5 I think (city means carbon fiber in this case)

City means black scale. There is also an outdoor which is green and the carbon fiber is cf.

That's what I thought but wanted to make sure. How do you like the Boker compared to say an alox cadet?

I haven't had the boker long enough to really answer that... i like the pocket clip and the blade seems comparable. Pliers aren't great but the other tools seem fine.

If I had to pick just one right now I'd probally go with a victorinox...

Did you just add a chapter to the 12 step plan?

13. Buy a bunch of beer, buy fancy knives, and cut the beers in half. Now buy more knives with all the money you aren't spending on beer.

Technically this would be the 14th step. I've "worked" the 13th step several times.

:D
