This is a great EDC post, nice work.

Today I did a very strange thing....I ditched all my EDC gear (keys excluded) except my Byrd Finch. Shudders. And the strange thing is, I plan on doing the same thing tommorow.

TECHWG,

What happpened to your Gerber Infinity Ultra? Did you wrap it with some sort of electrical or shrink tape?

I know that the new Gerber IU's coating sucks swamp water, I have one and for the first few weeks of ownership, it rode in my pocket. Next thing you know, the powder coating rubbed away in most spots. Good thing I bought 2 Countycomm Ultra-G's for sale at CPF and the Gerber got booted from my EDC loadout.

I like your EDC person choices . . and i just would like to congratulate you on the BEST multitool ever . . It looks like mine (Gerber 600 Pro scout Deluxe -With the carbide saw coupler) but anyway Gerber ROCKS. Spyderco also ROCKS. Good little setup you got there !

NOTE TO PEOPLE OF THE WORLD . . Ditch leatherman and buy a gerber 600 Pro Scout deluxe . . Leatherman design is bad. Only good thing for leatherman is they dont have pliers slightly sticking up that is the ONLY good thing about leatherman Pffrt i hate leathermans.

I cannot recall the model number of my Multitool, but it has been serving me very nicely for over 6 years. I prefer the rapid ease of use of the Gerbers over the Leathermans. Last year I thought I had lost my multitool and bought a Gerber 800 Legend to replace it. Though it's design made most of the other tools more available, I found that the longer operating time to get to the pliers to be a detriment. Fortunately my old multitool turned back up a few weeks later. I plan on sticking with the old and faithful Gerber design for many years to come.

does your gerber have a saw coupler ? with a black remgrit Tungston carbide cutter ? Also i agree with you about the design. I ordered my germer 600 and they sent me a 800 legend by accident. I hated it . I liked the almost magnetic nature of the closing action, but the pliers did not open as wide, and i just hated that design. I prompotly sent it back and went to a store and bought the one i wanted to start with. Best design - best features - Best product ! Worship the Gerber 600 Pro scout deluxe !!!

Yeah it's got the saw coupler. Like I said it is an older one. The small flat head screwdriver got broken, and the can-opener has a chip in it as well. I've been tempted to upgrade at some point, even by Leatherman products, but I have decided to keep this one till it dies in some catastrophic unrepairable manner.

Carrying my SAK today. Along with my little "card holding rig" (instead of using my wallet.
Also my Byrd Finch on my keys.

Victorinox Super Tinker or Soldier

Endura 4 in right front pocket
House and car keys in right back pocket
Photon micro-light on keychain
