hi. long-time reader, first time poster. didn't have a chance to get a pocket inventory. but there's one thing, totally un-related to knives, that i've been wondering.
seems like a lot of people have a length of paracord tied to their various gadgets. and i keep seeing this one particular knot used. i don't recognize it, but i'm no boy-scout. so, my question is... what kind of knot/braid is this?

hmmm I love looking at this thread from time to time to see how everyone's gear has changed.
My last post in this thread was back in August '07 and nothing has changed since then.
Spec Ops THE Jr. wallet: been going strong for three years now I think (got it in 2005 maybe??).
Vic Soldier in left front pocket since 2003.
BM710 in right pocket since January '06.
4gig iPod nano since sometime last year.
Keys for work, home and the Suby are on an Omega carabiner with a Photon II.
My last post in this thread was back in August '07 and nothing has changed since then.

Changed up my EDC a little:
*Folded, starched Hankie. Color depends on the day.
*Key "Silencer." Velcros shut, hangs from my belt. Can't stand a ball of keys in the pocket. Tuning-fork looking thing on the far left is a water bottle holster, clips onto the neck. Black disc is a 3' tape measure--bought it on a lark, but it's absolutely invaluable.
*Car key, with Photon LED.
*Burt's Bees lip balm
*Fenix belt holster
*Fenix P3D Premium100
*LG Chocolate
*Spyderco Caly 3 (Sorry Ritter Mini Griptilian!)
*Stayglow Victorinox Rambler
*Super High-end Wallet from Target

What in the heck are those two square leather sheaths? One's made out of snakeskin and the other is black leather with skull & crossbones. What are they? Poker chip holsters? Mao Zedong badges?
