Yesterday I received this tiny Yaesu VX-3R 2-meter/440 ham radio. Wideband Rx gives me everything including police, fire, CB, NOAA,television, AM/FM, shortwave, blah blah. Haven't had it long enough to see if it will fit into EDC. Got it primarily for participating in 2-meter disaster & emergency services comm, weather nets, etc.

Below is a Maxpedition M-2 waistpack that I have been experimenting with. Most Maxpedition waistpacks seem not too roomy on the inside, but still a little bulky. This one is plenty room, but still not too big to hang on the belt all day. To demonstrate what it will hold, it has the Blackberry Curve, ham radio, black LM Wave, Case Sodbuster Jr., Doan mag block and full size Sharpie:

A little off topic...

I see manny people here walking around with all forms of kubotan's. I was lokking for something like that but our realy cool Dutch laws say it is forbidden to have one. They agree it's a defensive weapon, but we are not alowed to carry anything that has a function a a purpose built weapon. Not even a stupid short stick like that..

Knives can be carried under strickt rules ( places, size, sort of knives etc. Verry limited and under attack due to recent stabbings... )

Now i was lokking into a small flashlight like the Surefire e2d Defender. Since this is primairely a flashlight this is a sort of maze in the law. I can carry a flashlight with no problem, and that i can use it as an impact or pressure point tool a a welcome adition.

Now i only know Surefire's Defender. Are there anny good alternatives on the market beeing formost a qualety flashlight and the possibelity for using as an impact/self defense tool?
Anny tips would be welcome as for were to look. Thanks, and defend your freedoms when it coms to carry weapons as tools and self defense... In a few years al i can do is use hard launguage to scare of an atacker...

From a Minimag to a Fenix, you can use any metal body flashlight as a kubotan and it will perform as well as the E2D - even without the advertising.

If it was about knives, Surefire (the Dark Ops of the flashlight adsvertising world) would be like "Look, we invented the COMBAT tacticLOL knife. Compared to ordninary knives, it can be used to STAB people!!!"

Today I have a couple o' customs....

My 5 inch Eddie White Model IX
and my Lamont Coombs Tanto necker

todays EDC was:

- Emerson Super Commander
- Spyderco Chinook
- Wolf Eyes flashlight
- bandana
- a MonteCristo stogie in a leather tube
- zippo
- that funny CDN money
- Kabar TDI in the wiastband
- Khukuri in the truckers briefcase
- my own version of a mini pry bar
- SOG powerpliers
- carpenter pencil
- fig newtons
- Israeli bandage

Good carry. What is an Israeli bandage?

Why would a man carry a pruning knife? My son carries a folding pearing knife but then he is a chef. On MV they frown on carrying 110's. You have to protect the sheeple. BJ
