depends on the damascus. the blade on this caswell is heat treated by paul bos to rc 62 (bottom knife).

I carry it when ever I feel like it. That maybe 1 day a week, or a week at a time. Its good stuff. CRK can refinish the whole knife for like $40, so why not? Its of no use to me just looking good in my knife display. I looks better in my pocket, or ripping through some cardboard.

I think most people hop in a car worth much more than a really nice knife and drive it right? What about if the paint chips, or if a bird craps on it... Most people buy cars to drive knowing they might show a little wear with use, and they accept it.

I buy a knife to use, knowing it might show use. But... In five years I can send my Dama sebbie to CRK and in a week or two get a brand new looking knife back. And..... Maybe even sell it for what I paid for it, or better yet MORE!

For the first time in almost a quarter century, I have only one folder to carry. It is indeed a sad day in Ricksville, an imaginary town in which only I live. Due to some complications of my divorce and having to pay my lawyer, my knives were sold. Did keep my two Strider AR's though as I have a good friend who owns a pawn shop and he has them in his safe and holding them indefinately until I buy them back. If not for that I would have had to sell them.

But that is old news as my "legal" troubles have all been sorted out and dealt with!! It is going to be slow going for the next three months as I begin to get back into the knife scene, but I'll be there! My first two purchases will be next Friday and are a; Fallkniven PXL white micarta, and a CRK Umnumzaan. Figured if I was coming back I'd do so with a bang!!

Well, so much for that. To answer the original question, I now have , as my carry and do it all knife, a Boker Wharcom! A danged good knife that has done everything I've asked of it!!:thumbup::thumbup:

Sweet! How do you like the street beat? I beat the hell out of mine this summer working on a farm and it performed awesome. I also love how it carries. Put a thin edge on that baby too, the VG-10 is sweet, especially with that blade profile.

Paired with a SE yellow salt 1 I was unstoppable
