 Thanks Ozy. That is one interesting hawkbill indeed, a lot straighter than the usual hawkbills one sees. How do you like using it?

(and yes I realise i could get into trouble for having them...but hey, this is Australia, i'll get locked up for carrying that much steel as well ;))

I always thought your EDC pics had knives I wouldn’t carry in Aus. In the middle of nowhere, sure, but not here (Canberra) or in Sydney, especially a fixed blade. Maybe I worry about it a little too much. Get many looks whilst using your blades? I suppose you would be pretty discreet when doing it.

My EDC from... about a month or two

- Orient Mako diver (200m)
- BM 940 - right front pocket
- HDS42 basic - left front pocket
Rest of the EDC stuff, including Vic CyberTool 34 and 4" chinese V-tech fixed, rides in Colosuss :D

i think this would make a great sticky
I totally agree..

Here's my stuff for the day.. Butter Bean, Lone Wolf Loveless, and a dorky little UTX-70..

It is one smooth knife, took me a while to get the hang of sharpening it...especially the tip, but I like it...it kind of feels like a 1911 pistol, heavy, quality, with a satisfying click when I lock / unlock it.

The fixed blades I carry are smaller than the folders, they tuck into my palm, and I quickly cut what I need and put it back out of sight,

In and around the Office / Warehouse, no problem, the people I work with are used to it, and i'm senior management.

Out amongst people I dont know, yes very very discreet. As long as I do the right thing, access my situations carefully and carry appropriately, I feel ok.

I'll carry something smaller when I know I'll be pulled up by cops (frequent traffic stops on the motorbike ) ... hell i've even got my daughter trained to tell me to put that pocket clip down out of sight, or tuck that lanyard in :D.

What is the little black knife? I've seen people EDC them on this thread. I think they are those lever autos right? What brand?

It is a out the front "Double Action" auto made by Microtech. The button is used to deploy and retract the blade.

Hey Masteroffajitas, it's the California legal version of the Microtech UTX-70. They haven't been in production since 2007 I believe, but you can find them if you keep an eye out. (PM me if looking for one..) The standard, non-custom ones run between 180-250 bucks.. Very handy for quick/small tasks..

I find myself on a pocket diet of sorts. I have tons of gear to haul around and would like to keep it light. That being the case I have chosen the Spyderco Delica 4, or should I choose the Native? My Black Shallot is an easy cary. Will the next poster please choose for me?
Thank You

Keep it light with a Spyderco Military. :D 4oz, 4in blade, amazing ergos.

Of those two, I'd take the Delica 4. It's basically a Native with VG-10, a slightly better (imo) blade shape but worse edge geometry. Oh yeah, and it's screwed together not pinned. :)

Feeling sentimental, so I have my 1980 model Gerber Paul today. The blade is severly scrathed, she's a bit worn, and the wood is blackened with hand oils. However, she sure is pretty, she still cuts, and she's never let me down.

Usually I carry the awesome Spyderco Delica 4, but occasionally when my cutting tasks require more reach I carry the SOG Aegis. My Aegis is outfitted with the tacticool digi-camo handle and the black tini blade.
