Starting today I'll be alternating these daily for a few weeks of hard use. We'll see how they hold up. Of course I'll have a Case cv or carbon Opinel riding shotgun.

At this moment, I'm carrying a Spyderco Mini Manix 2 in the left pocket, my wallet in
the same pocket, and my Blackberry in my right pocket.
Phone and knife both have clps but the wallet is free floating in the bottom with the
pocket lint....
Oh yeah, I have pocket lint as well...:)

Jorski 3000, Hey hey, another civil cervant packing! :D
It's the most opressive, absurd and discriminating law amonst the most absurd laws here. You can imagine what I mean by saying that this country is fucked up, when you think that you can't legally carry a two hand opened swiss army knife in your pocket.

UPS dropped off today's carry this morning. Included; ZT0200KW for my right front pocket, a Spyderco Persistence, with clip removed, in my left front pocket. The Persistence is replacing my slipjoints for a little bit, or maybe longer, but it is larger than I anticipated, though being flat, clipless, and fairly thin, it rides in my pocket jst fine. Though not a knife, my last item is an edc item and one that is really easy for me to carry and that is a Leatherman Serac2 led flashlight. Runs on 1 AAA battery, and has two modes; 5 lumens and 35 lumens, and is absolutely the most convinent flashlight I have ever carried!

Dude, get your facts up to date! The old law was replaced a couple of years ago, for the new law google "järjestyslaki". The division between banned "dangerous edged weapons" and others was replaced by a blanket ban on ALL items "suited for causing bodily harm". And the new law covers EVERYTHING from pen knives to OTF autos, kubotans to battle axes, slingshots to crossbows, collapsing batons to knuckledusters, katanas to pepper spray. The good news is that you can still carry pretty much anything IF you need it for work or some other legitimate purpose (approppriate time and place apply).

OTOH it's now legal to import and sell anything, including the formerly banned stilettos, auto, daggers, bayonets and such.

As for carrying anyway: if you behave yourself, and don't get stopped and searched for something stupid (like carrying your hardware to a night club) there's no reason the fuzz would give a crap about your multitool or pocket knife. There's plenty of common sense among our policemen. But if you cross the line, the law is enforced to the full.

One of the reasons why I'd never carry a €100+ knife outside my own property.

The law also states that you WILL see the inside of a court house if caught with any of the above mentioned items. That is, if the police wants you to. They can let you off the hook or confiscate, but it's up to the officer involved.

Trust me on this. I know all this, and I'm considered a responsible adult, father and civil servant, and I pack 24/7. :)

Oh, great, that just shows cops don't know shit about law :P I asked friend of mine who knows cops and he told me what cops told him :P Well, it would be intresting to get sued for carrying Leatherman... :P But on the otherhand I need leatherman every day as IT-support job... Oh, well luckily I can pack fully with fixed blade and Spyderco tenacious in the woods ^^ No fuzz there

How are you liking the zing? I played with one in EMS yesterday and really liked it, but the instore price of 64.99 was a little too much. I can get it online for 40, do you think it's worth it?

I really like it a lot, perfect size for me, carries really well, the blade looks a little different but I have had no problems with anything like peanut butter clogging it up. It slides right through cardboard with extreme ease, all in all its great. And yes I think its worth it to pick one up. Its one of the more overlooked (IMO) newer offerings from Kershaw :D

You're ok, because your job requires you to have tools on you. But when you hit the bar after work, that no longer applies. But like I said, if you behave yourself, there's no need why cops would care. The worrying thing is that if the cops WANT to, they can give you a lot of hassle. Nothing new there, though...

Cops as a rule don't know the law very well. This one they should know, because it gets tested on a daily basis. But like all humans, cops are lazy. I once called the local police station to ask about a legal issue. I got two different answers, both of which turned out to be wrong...

So carrying in Finland is tempting fate. Fortunately, like you said, there's the great outdoors where an axe and knife are a necessity and therefore fully legal.

The tenacious fling is over. Re-enter the Centofante. I'm not ED-carrying a larger folder than that, period. Even though Tenacious is nice as heck, I'll take a puukko over a large folder any day.

The Vic Spartan is new, it supplements the Leatherman PST + Micra very nicely. Ever noticed how you often need to use the pliers AND a screwdriver at the same time? And the Phillips head on the Micra is pretty weak. LM + SAK should be a winning combination.

Nevermind the pink lanyard. I just like to tie knots into things, just to untie them right away.

Let's talk bags. I've lost track of all the goodies in my bag so I emptied it. I've been using the same cordura shoulder bag for 15+ years, and it's still as good as new. This is the stuff that stays in the bag, when I remove all work related things. Most things travel in the smaller pouches, the biggest one of which is a rollable neck pouch, big enough for pens and such.

Left to right, top to bottom:

- 3 USB data sticks
- adapter for micro data card
- USB charger for phone and hands free
- Bluetooth hands free set
- earphones for phone/radio/MP3
- paper, post-its, credit card size watertight document/money pouch with ziplock
- paracord with locks
- mini first aid kit
- S&W HRT boot knife (travels in an easily accessible compartment on top of my bag)
- LED mini Maglite
- torx keys
- push dagger (I had no idea it was in the bag)
- matches
- Silva storm lighter
- Duracell pen light (freebie)
- UKE 2xAAA diving light with mask/cap clip
. Leatherman PST (original), alu handle folder with folding clip/bottle opener, Freestyle and Micra (yes, I carry two)
- work keys in chain with spare split rings and alu biner
- about 6 feet of duct tape rolled flat
- 5 zip ties
- black marker, ball point pen and pencils

Not pictured: A5 sized notebook/calender.

jorski, how's your Spyderco Centofante? Its pretty nice looking knife, good sized and is not terribly expensive... but how's the feeling?

It's very nice. The blade is thin, the handle is sleek but grippy enough, carries very comfortably in waistband and slices very well. It's not a muscle folder but a very good EDC for light cutting chores. And it's Japan made, VG10, high quality folder. A bargain.

I used to dislike the sharp thumb ramp, but now I'm using it for various prying tasks. So it must be there for a reason.

For size comparison purposes ;) :

I think I can recognize Ladybug, Dragonfly, Native III?, Tencious, Police and Centofante... That Dragonfly looks nice. Is that between Native and Centofante Delica?

I am currently between Centofante and Native. Albeit bit more to Centofante I'd get Delica but they're getting bit too expensive. Centofante actualyl costs as much as I want to put on a carrying folder...

Top to bottom:

Police SS - scratched and pivot pin somewhat loosened, from late 90s
Endura - WELL used, ghetto waved, tip broken, clip bent
Tenacious brand new - didn't make my EDC list for being a tad too large, but nice anyway
Centofante - my EDC for two years, in surprisingly good condition
Delica SS - not much used but carried on sea water dives
Delica FRN - carried for years, slightly bent and action gritty, note to self: get a new one ASAP
Native - newish, still pretty intact. Had an SS Native before, gave it to my brother, I hear it's been used hard. I asked for photos and he gave me a funny look...
Dragonfly SS - new, already scratched but I don't care, even though it's pretty it's for using
Dragonfly FRN - in key ring for years, teeth and tip chipped, clip removed by me.

And they're ALL still in service. That's quality.

I like these two together as an EDC:

The watch is a Tissot Seastar 660 and the knife is an Spyderco Military.

I will carry this one this weekend. I normally carry a more traditional knife, but my last thumb nail got messed up yesturday, so I need a OH opener till my nail grows back. But I do love this Case.
