nff,

That's a neat looking Gerber. How's it holding up for you?

quite well lockup is tight and i actually just cut myself with it lol so its keeping and edge quite well. i ended up using it to ream out a old funnel to fit on a fixture. no i didn't cut myself doing that... it was actually while i was picking my peppers. i might get around to taken pics of my poor beat up gerber but not atm.

Cool, glad to hear it's holding up for you. I look forward to seeing those pics.

My EDC is pretty simple right now, Schrade Old Timer 8OT, car keys, Burt's Bees Lip Balm, cell phone, and wallet.

I've been EDCing my Gerber Magnum LST.

No it's not one hand opening...no it's not made with some uber-steel with unobtainium scales, but it's lite for it's size, has a great blade shape with lots of belly, is comfortable as hell and is made in the USA for $20.

I've also had my SAK Driver in my pocket, great, simple pocket knife.

I am also trying to get as much use out of my new Mora 2000 as possible...what a great blade (if a little thin), I've added a lanyard hole some 550 paracord and a cord lock and have an on/scene tactical kydex sheath on order for it.

ok well here is my two main edc's the big blue one i named the "big blue Ba**rd" cuz it weighs a freaking tonne. but it is my sharpest knife since i have close to 2-3 days of stone time on it. the blade was hallow ground..... not anymore it isn't as you can see there is almost 0 relief cut. so basically its modeled after a katana's edge. the "B3" lol isn't that great of a knife though its got quite a bit of movement up and down but that's from close to 4 years of constant opening and closing. it is a quick blade though. i'd say much faster than a kershaw leak. *which i just had the pleasure of handling today* but its also a really thick. .... ok im done lol.

Wow, now those two have seen some use. What kind of cord did you use on the Gerber, and how did you put a thumbstud on it?

Spyderco Native III today. But only until my Sage I comes in the mail. :) 2 more days of waiting!!!

its a type of string called "garden string" its a type of plastic i'd like to use like para-cord or some other rope that's much nicer but this is all i had. that and i wouldn't be adverse to cutting it if need be.

and the thumb stud is of a former knife that i retired since it had an un-acceptable amount of vertical movement.

I think this makes the third time this week that I carry this old Case XX USA 6318 HE stockman along with the other few items I carry. Very special knife since it is probably as old or older than I am (43) and in much better shape.

I finished building this about a week ago and I've been using it as my EDC ever since. I love Kershaw's "Leek", and I find this knife to be very "Leek-like".

I love the Damascus and the "sandwiched" San Mai blade!

"San Mai knives have an inner core of hard and brittle carbon steel, with a thick layer of soft and more ductile steel sandwiched around the core so that the hard steel is exposed only at the cutting edge."

You can see the detail of the San Mai in the second Pic.

Considering the size of the Razel, it rides well in the pocket. The things that never change are the Surge, 6P, Rescue hook and the Vic Cadet
