Went out hiking today and decided to bring along the Bear Grylls survival knife I picked up for pretty cheap a few days ago... its alright.

I taught you guys would get a kick out of this picture, its Otzi (Otzi is a 5000 year old mummy they found in the alps in back in 1991)the ice mans EDC. The picture is a recreation of his EDC gear.
Ötzi EDC. 5000 years later and we still carry sharp things.
Ötzi carried an extensive and efficient kit which allowed him to remain away from home for long periods and to be self-reliant. With his tools he would have been able to repair damaged items and fashion new ones.

I did research on him around 13 years ago...I knapped and reproduced his knife and sheath (sheath was the hardest part) which was fun and donated it to the local musuem who published my paper.

Moose today. Saturday mornings can be tough. I pull out my fav Case knives, Moose, Small Texas jack (cv), medium stockman (cv), the amazing custom quality swayback jack (cv) and soddies and just stare at them trying to decide which one comes along for the day.

Workin round the house and shop so I'm carryin my KSF pocket sheath with my BM 211 Activator with D2 blade---love this little fixed blade, Red SAK Farmer, my trusty 1970 Case 62087 serpentine jack, BM 14205 and Maratac AAA flashlight:thumbup: Think I have all the bases covered
