What’s the proper name for one of these little bone decorations? I’ve seen others like it, I think Asian in origin

Japanese would carry what is called "netsuke" and I love them...usually ivory or ox bone, where you find that one? I'd be up to buy one! :D:thumbup:

Heres my carry today, SRM 710 and an 80's model Parker pen that I used all through school...just found it recently in a box I was about to throw away.

I really like that little bone carving. If it's not a netsuke it might be something Tibetan made out of Ox/Yak bone.

I got at it a swap met, i really don’t know much about it, it was attached to an old silk bag that was in pretty bad shape. In I think your right it’s not Japanese. Maybe Chinese or Tibetan.

It looks south american to me, the Aztec/Mayan influence is still heavy in your neck of the woods so iconography like that wouldnt be uncommon...I seriously doubt its Tibetan (the style is all wrong) and Chinese never really had the obsession with death iconography, they were more about immortality and beating death.
