Is that the Case Sodbuster Jr, Tom? That's a nice looking knife. Are both sides of that one unadorned and how's the quality on currently made Cases?
--Steve

Hey Steve - yes, that is a Case sodbuster jr. Neither side has a shield, and the blade is only marked with a tang stamp. The knock against Case is generally that the stainless doesn't hold an edge well, but if you reduce the edge to 15 degrees per side and keep it a rough-ish edge, they actually do pretty well. (I don't sharpen any finer than the grey stones on a sharpmaker). I've never had issues with the fit and finish on a sodbuster, they are great work knives.

Thanks for the info, T. I can see that one fitting in for me as a second carry. I like that handle shape, the look of the pivot and pins, and the fact that it's plain both sides. Seems a good deal at thirty bucks.

That is what I use it for at the office, and the people I work with aren't freaked out by it. Little do they know I am also carrying that Charlie Mike special IWB :).

Playing with a new-to-me lanyard stitch last night--ended up with a tie-up for my wife's Vermont keys and fob for the PM2 that's in my pocket today.
