  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

EDC XI Which knife or knives are you carrying today?

Carrying the 0095 BLK again. I love the knife, but am disappointed in the DLC. Scratches soooo easily. My 14kt gold ring has scratched it up. So much for "diamond like" carbon coating. I almost feel like having it removed, then anodizing the plain Ti.

Yes - this is why I am moving away from DLC blades. Stonewash and blackwash are the king.

DLC coatings are Tungsten Carbide (TDLC=Tungsten Diamond Like Carbon). The HRC (Hardness Rockwell C scale) of DLC is 72. Most knife blades are in the high 50 to low 60 HRC range. I doubt that a Gold ring could scratch DLC. Gold might scratch a Parkerized (Phosphate) coat.

My bad it's 590 my dyslexia is kicking in :)
