BTW When you received your YoJimbo 2 a while back and posted pictures it inspired me and reminded me how much I liked and missed mine. The G10 version you have has better traction then my CF which I think makes it better for utility work or what ever you choose. If I remember it also has s30v “ I could be wrong” but if it does that’s a great all around blade steel for holding a edge and ease of sharpening.Been at home the past two days caring for my wife and daughter — they both have the flu smh. This is my at-home, shorts carry:

Man Quiet. That's a sweet looking traditional. Thinking it may need a nice sleeping bag for your pocket to keep it warm. Wink.Got this old Imperial in my pocket today.

I do love the bling and feel in hand of my CF version and the CPM20cv blade steel. Couldn’t be happier and just wanted to say Thank you for sharing yours inspiring me to buy mine![]()

Thanks my friend and also wishing you a wonderful weekend and most importantly hoping both your girls are feeling betterLol, anytime! I used to have the CF/CPM20CV version, but ended up selling it to allocate funds elsewhere. My wife ended up buying me my current G10/S30V from my Amazon wishlist lol. I think it’s an amazing knife, but I prefer to carry it without a clip — I’ve even tried a Lynch Deep Carry. It actually fits my hand more comfortably without one lol. I do like your set up, looks clean.
You know, more I use and sharpen my knives, more I prefer easier to sharpen steels lol. I love me some M390/20CV/204P, but those take more energy and effort to sharpen. Then again, I’m a novice at best so what do I know lol. The YoJimbo 2’s wharnecliffe blade shape makes it a breeze to sharpen/strip IMO. Hope you’re having a good weekend!

That’s a special wife to get that Yojimbo off your wish list and smart !
I actually like the traction much better on your G10 version but again absolutely love my CF version. Couldn’t agree more about softer blade steels being so much easier to sharpen then the harder super steels. I’ve only been sharpening for 10 to 15 years and still feel I have much to learn and improve on but that’s part of what makes it fun once you get past the early stages of frustration lol.
My biggest tip is keeping the consistency of the angle on one side since it’s not as important to have the same degree of angle on both”also sharpen from the edge back”. Just the same angle on every stroke of the side your sharpening also using light pressure especially if your using a leather strip block or you can actually round off your edge and hard work.I also found with the super steels you just have to take your time also and don’t rush it and of course up the aggressiveness of the stones your using. I’ll hit mine on a leather strip after each use with either green or black compound trying to never let it get dull. If you keep maintaining the edge you don’t have to worry about sharpening unless you want to re-profile for what ever reason for instance maybe a hinderer to enhance it’s slicing capabilities.
Spyderco sharp makers aren’t good nor fun to try and reprofile a edge but are great for maintaining the edge being quick and easy.
For re-profiling I’ll use my edge pro starting either a 400 or 600 and work up to 1000 if I want that ApostleP mirror edge. I’ve found though a little bit of a toothy edge works best my needs![]()
