EDC XIII Which knife or knives are you carrying today?

My trick to keep from having to sharpen often is to carry a different knife every day. Seriously though i strop and strop until that no longer responds and then it needs touching up so then i go to the Sharpmaker. I only break out the clamp system if the edge needs serious work like chip repair, reprofiling, or a mirror edge. s30v is just fine by me btw. I like m390 like the next guy but i try to only buy models with upgrade steels if the finiancial jump is justified for me And its a substantial leap in steel. I dont consider s30v to m390 a big upgrade imo although say sandvik to m390 or another PM steel and its a reasonable price increase then yes but Then they add nicer upgraded scales and such also sometimes making the decision compounded lol.

Appreciate the Pro-tip! I’ll have to look into getting a guided system, currently have the Worksharp and DMT stones. I do strop regularly for maintenance.

I also have a Worksharp Ken onion edition.
Those are pretty sweet but will give you a convex edge wether you want one or not. The rare times I use it I’ll put painters tape on my blades otherwise if you don’t you’ll get scratches on the flats of your blade from the metal shavings accumulating on the blade guide.
The last few years I’ve been experimenting with freehand sharpening with stones.
This guy is one of the best I feel although mainly fixed blades you can learn a lot from him and I always enjoy his videos.

The action on the Yojimbo 2 reminds me a lot of the Shaman with solid engagements with loud satisfying clicks. Although I love my para 2’s and 3’s they sound more like toys in comparison.
