EDC XIII Which knife or knives are you carrying today?

Thank ya. Hell I don’t do anything but work anymore. Always a good place to take a pic at work tho. I’m sure there’s some more anal electricians around here that know you always match your bends and line up your couplings.

I would have been like that but my path led me out of electrical construction and into high voltage power system maintenance and electrical testing. There are other things in my area of the trade that I’m anal about. Keep up the good work and the good pics!

Naw, that's not being anal, that's just good workmanship that's slowly becoming more scarce these days. Now, having all the screw slots matching, that's anal ;)

Make sure all the retaining brackets are straight and level, all your Kinndorf rails are cut to the same length and at the same place so the holes in the rails line up, and your tubing should all be cut so that the stenciling on the outside lines up, too. This rabbit hole is not endlessly deep, but we haven't found the bottom, yet.

Fun fact. One of my predecessors loved 5 wire outdoor cable, and when he needed to make a run, he just hung it or zip-tied it to whatever was already there. If he only needed three wires, he cut the other two, or just taped them and left them hanging in the box. When I go into a place where the runs are all strack like that, I almost tear up, because it's so beautiful.

Now I’ll make sure all the set screws are turned the same way but as far as the slots matching I haven’t gone that far haha.
It really is a dying breed. Most people don’t care about the craftsmanship anymore and just want to know how cheap and how quick can you do it

Don't I wish I had that kind of time! Parts of the plant are 80 years old, and I would be fighting an impossible amount of historical inertia to make it "right". I'm mostly worried about thermal cycling, vibration, and protecting the safety inspector from electrical hazards, both legitimate and exaggerated, for the purposes of finding something to write in his book. My co-workers are very enthusiastic about finding illumination issues, and passing them through official channels, for me to fix.

Now if you'll excuse me, I need a cookie...

Thank ya. After almost twenty years I still enjoy what I do

Quite literally, I've been carrying this one today as I worked on b-ball admin all morning and into the afternoon wearing what I slept in and had my new-to-me RDD in hand moving from my office to the LR and down to the kitchen writing schedules, emailing, and printing documents as I prepare for our 7 league championship finals this weekend. I took a late shower and if I head to the metal or wood shop will probably pocket something more work-like for that. I'll probably just work on layouts at the drafting table, though, and will keep the good doctor with me for that.

Carrying a Persian style folder today, designed by the "father of tactical folding knives" - Mr. Bob Terzuola. Nothing like a bit of Persian magic on a dull, rainy day !!

This is my 3rd Terzoula in "the collection", after the CTF (Massdrop) and Clap (MKM).
