Took a little hike with my son today up to a couple of alpine lakes

I recently bought one of those GEC Farm & Field Pocket Carvers in red and black micarta, and it's a really nice looking knife. I haven't whittled with it yet, but it's a lovely little machine in any case. Two out of the three blades were dull on mine (both small ones) but I'll touch them up, no issues there. Otherwise I have high hopes for it, I love the look and feel of the thing.

I hope you enjoy it there great little knives. I think you’ll find it will sharpen nicely. I just use some green compound on mine with a leather strop and once in a while maybe some black . If the edge is a little to far gone a spydie sharpmaker will work nicely to. If I want a polished edge and in the mood to sharpen I’ll pull out my edge pro. I’ve found that most of the time with Gec the blades are hair popping sharp but have received a few over the years that were not even close. This is my 3rd Gec #62 pocket carvers and think I have 4 or 5 of the #62 easy pockets. Guess you can say I like this pattern lol.

Wow! Spectacular views, and the knives aren't too shabby either!

Breath taking pictures and views.
Thank you for sharing ! :)

Beautiful! Which lakes did you hike to?

Thanks friends! The first lake was Lake Talapus and the one further up with the snow was Lake Olallie, in the North Bend/Snoqualmie area. All in all just over 6 miles of walking. There are a couple of lakes further up, but we decided to wait a few weeks for the snow to melt some more. Spectacular day though!

Very nice! Theirs an old logging trail that my friend has keys to the gate for that you can go directly from Gold Bar to North Bend. He said he’s going to take me over in his side by side one day...bet it would be a fun trip. Beautiful country we live in here for sure!
