No the field grade shamwaris are a newer release. This is just a very old shamwari. So old infact that it seems like Gareth Bull hadn’t had things completely dialed in yet and the female pivot is sort of crooked. Luckily through some miracle I was able to get everything to sit straight. I decided I’m not taking this knife apart anymore now that I got it just right and will clean it by squirting zippo lighter fluid through the pivot from now on.

Its on bronze phosphor washers though and so in order to get a good action I have to leave the action loose enough that there is a little bit of side to side flex. Not enough to really call play, just flex.

Despite all these issues I just love the knife. It is one of my favourites. I should probably start saving up for a newer iteration of it.
 
Well loved first Gen LCC D/A with a home brew satin finish...if you get the light just right you can make out the date still (11/2000) :D I've been wanting one of these for almost 20 years, lol
