I had ambitious plans for today and should have carried a work user for at least one of the tasks I had in mind. Instead, after spending the last couple days hustling to get the boat ready to roll, dealing with the paperwork, and completing the sale, J and I both kinda kicked back, relaxed, and my big effort was driving to the next town and getting a haircut now that it's legal again. The RDD makes an appropriate carry to kill a chilled out day....

Cold Steel medium AK-47. Sadly it looks like this 2.75" flavor is discontinued, though the excellent 3.5" large version lives on. Now that Cold Steel has moved to higher end steels (the current AK-47 sports S35VN in place of the original AUS-8), the price has doubled and the value factor that first drew me to Cold Steel is no longer there. The larger AK-47 retails for $100, which is still a decent value but not killer like it once was back in the day. Irrespective of price and blade steel, the AK-47 remains an awesome EDC knife. The hand really locks into the sculpted handle profile, and the thing just plain looks Bad Axe.
