EDC XIII Which knife or knives are you carrying today?

Crap, you did too?! I roasted a pound of Kenyan beans this aft... GREAT to hear that this is NOT just about knives. It’s about what we frickin’ love. Passion. Been roasting since 2003, and I’ve never looked back. Best coffee I’ve had all my life. An Ethiopian made it in my cup this morning. And it was good...

I've been doing it for a few years now. Aside from the hobby aspect, what I really like is being able to roast small batches frequently to always have fresh coffee. I also enjoy being able to switch between different types without having to use up a large quantity of one kind. I don't know if you've seen either of them, but there is a Knives and Coffee thread which is mostly just pictures and there's a big Coffee thread in the Community subforum too. That one is more talk about coffee than knives and a few of us are home roasters.

To stay a bit on track, I'm sitting here fidgeting with this customized Bugout while having a cup of coffee now.

Had a nice ride this morning :)

You guys are killing me with these pics. Those DEKs are nice! I really need to get my click finger warmed up and try to get in on Nathan’s next sale, before that blade show stock is gone.

 Do it! It’s funny. This is a model that didn’t particularly excite me and I almost passed on it. I did the same thing on the EDC for a long time, then kicked myself for waiting so long once I got one in hand. I’m well acquainted with CPK quality, but not all models surprise me with liking them more than expected.

It feels like a featherweight, good all-rounder. The texturing on the scales is reminiscent of the Shiv quilting pattern, only finer with better grip. They did a really nice job.

Seth already did an incredible job capturing the texture, but here’s one more while I’m yammering on about it.

Thank you. My forum-time is typically limited, so I appreciate recommendations on other discussions to participate in. I’ve too been a home roaster for some time. Just finished a Chemex pot of monsooned Malabar I purchased from Green Coffee Buyer’s Club (Sweet Maria’s is my typical supplier). Now to strap on some boots and head off on a hike - knife in pocket. Hmm, today’s carry?...
