I did, actually. Stuck it in some whink's Rust Remover for a few seconds, then anodized it with eight 9V batteries in series.
It turned out better than I expected, honestly.

Thank you. Yes, it's a Cattaraugus in ebony.
The pen(?) blade was broken, so I re-shaped and sharpened it into something usable. Here's the before pic:

Very interesting break on that blade. With the "rainbow" on the metal, do you think someone fried the blade off, or maybe they tried to weld it back together? Great save of an old, classic knife!

Thanks, I appreciate it! I didn't carry this today, but I anodized this guy the same day using similar methods (I just feel like showing off lol).
It's actually currently in the mail for Chip to do some engraving on that flat face!

Yeah, it looks to me like someone overheated that blade, and then pried with it. The new edge works pretty well now for scraping.
