EDC XIII Which knife or knives are you carrying today?

An excellent day for taking photo’s of patina, and this #23 is coming along nicely!
Its got a strong pull, but ever since I received it back from Jason @Signalprick, its been my go to...along with 1 or 2 or 3...ish other carries. Haha.

Love that waved fixie sheath!

Hey all, new to this site (as a member) though Ive read quite a few of these threads as I blunder my way through my first few knives. Nothing super fancy. Bought some 1084 blanks from AKS. Built myself a little forge out of a few soft insulating fire bricks and a torch. Got a cheaper 2 x 42 belt grinder, and bought a couple pferd files for the filing jig I constructed from a youtube video I saw. Ive made a few knives out of old files and saw blades prior to this and found I truly enjoyed the work so I figured 1084 and a small home made forge was the next logical step. My first question for the master craftsmen (and women) on this site is this..... I have a paint can I purchased from HD filled with Canola oil for my quench. I heat up the cut off scrap piece of 1084 from my blade then drop that in the oil to heat it up prior to heat treating. How often should I change the oil? Its starting to get a little nasty. Is this something I should do regularly or can I simply change it at my own discretion? Any help is appreciated. Thanks,
Kevin
