Just got the Spyderco UKPK yesterday, I love it so much, it's going to replace my Delica: Better ergonomics, just as fast to open, faster to close, lighter, better pocket clip. Time will tell if I miss the lock, but I don't think so. (YouTube video coming soon featuring it vs. some other favorite 3-inchers)

Victorinox Manager, with toothpick to replace tweezers. I have big ol' round horse teeth, so I'm always getting food stuck between them, more often than I get splinters. Since I catch myself without a pen more often than without tweezers, I like this Manager model over the more popular Rambler. The fob with the Lanyard Knot is there to keep it from slipping out of my pocket. I've lost two of these already, and they're not as cheap as Classics! I've found over the years that I just can't go without a SAK; I miss the tools (and toothpick) too much. But the soft blade steel always lets me down, needing sharpening touch-up every week.

The watch is a Seiko automatic winding mechanical "diver". (it's not an officially ISO-rated diver, but 100m of water resistance is enough for me.) The timing bezel is very useful, and I like that it doesn't need a battery every year or two. It has the venerable 7S26 movement; beat rate is not too high, which means the gear train is under less stress and these go 20 years before needing service or replacement. (They're serviceable, but watchmakers' time is so valuable that it's cheaper to replace the movement with a new one!) I've just written off my last Seiko diver with a 7S26 for this reason. It's starting to lose significant time now, after 19 years of use)

This is going to be a popular EDC for awhile, I think. Just bought another Gold membership to support the site and be able to easily post here.2020-09-30 Carry.jpg

The latest wisdom is that a splash of water makes any whisky taste better than neat. It's chemically proven. My choice is 3 shots of Canadian Club over one big ice cube. Cools it off a bit, adds that splash of water taste and is VERY smooth. (it's like budget Crown Royal; 90% as good for 1/2 the price)
