What's the pen?

I have to ask (since everyone and anyone seemed to have an opinion about it before the knife was released), what's your personal take on the grip above the grind of the blade? Has it caused any significant problems for you while cutting things (assuming you've used it yet)? How effective/grippy is it really for deploying the blade? Just after your general thoughts.
Overall, I really like it.
The scales/handle is one of the first things that drew me to this knife and after having the knife “in hand” for serval days, I am not disappointed. The grip is aggressive and it’s shape traps your fingers onto the handle. The Jimping teeth are quite large, so grip positive and sure.
I have used the knife for everyday cutting tasks and found no discernible difference in its cutting performance.
No hang ups, no drag, nothing.
However, when it come to aiding in blade deployment, oh boy does it!
The laser etched friction pads allow you to open the blade using one finger from any position on the exposed blade.
The detent is easily overcome using the traction you get from just one finger.
I not sure, but I think BM has toyed with their detent design here a bit.
In addition, the 737 is easily opened using inertia (because of its blade thickness & weight). Add these two things together and you get a really easy and fun opening knife.
I’ve found it to be quite fun. I wish they made these with no hole. I would have preferred it have laser etched traction pads all the way across, no hole needed.
