EDC XIII Which knife or knives are you carrying today?

All weekend.

I missed having a 4 oz./3.5" no-nonsense EDC to rotate, and I was enjoying my Socom Elite with its aluminum handles and rubber inserts, and the recurve on my Super Commander and 0350, and realized I was completely overlooking the Kershaw Blur.:D

No longer! I can see why this model is so popular.

I had a Blur I edc'd off and on for a few years. It was a good knife but the serrations, tanto, and assisted opening never really did it for me. I recently picked up a plain edge drop point version and de-assisted it. I am really enjoying this knife.

I wish ZT would release a version of it. Titanium with micarta inlays. I could keep or lose the recurve.

Do you carry/use your SR1 much? I've got the same one plus a red SR2A and they're really sweet knives, but they just don't find their way into my pocket. I'd kinda miss 'em if I sold them off so I can't decide whether to let them go or not. Both mine are basically LNIB and I'm in that no-man's-land of using them and dropping value or moving on.

I have it in the 75ish knife rotation. So it doesn’t get overly used, but I enjoy it every time I get to use it. Thinking about picking up one of the aluminum versions now that they can be had at a highly reduced price. It did come pretty dull from the factory. Had it sharpened several years ago and has held the edge ever since. It’s comfortable in hand, a bit of a pocket hog, but carries well in jeans.

Red PM2 earlier today. Recon1 when I got home this afternoon to help with some unexpected yard work.

Is that the large or small Strisch? Hard to tell looking at one knife only. How do you like it?

I picked up the small in CF and Vanadis 8 last Spring. It was wicked stiff out of the box, as I think it had sat around in stock too long with no lube. It frustrated me for some time as I tried to loosen it with TriFlow (PTFE) to no avail, but W10 NanoOil did the trick. I also tried to open it when I had it up at our Vermont cabin, but its free-spinning, lock-tited pivot resisted the assistance of the rather weak-ass hair dryer we have up there. Still it's wicked smooth and pretty free now, though I'll still try to crack it for a washer polish and maybe slight pivot loosening. FYI, opening the knife voids the Cheburkov warranty according to their German dealer.

Nice knife, though, and the Vanadis 8 blade was wicked sharp with a polished edge out of the box.

Edited quite a bit later after discovering that spell-check changed Vanadis to Vandals. Actually not a bad name for the steel as you could use the blade for wanton destruction, but as someone once said, "Auto-correct is my enema."

I've been carrying this one for a couple of weeks now and it's performing perfectly.

That's a beauty. It's one of the few multi tool series with a big enough blade for proper food prep. The pocket hanger is a must. (Or belt pouch)

I finally replaced my old 1st-gen Delica I've been missing since I moved it on. It didn't take much to get it razor-sharp on the Sharpmaker.

In the pocket is my Vic Clockwork Classic; I can't go without a toothpick, as I have big, round, tight horse teeth. The scissors and nail file/light pry bar often come in handy too.

On the wrist is my Hamilton Navy Pioneer. I'm a watch collector too.

I was hesitant to buy one not knowing if the quality would be at a level to withstand professional level usage.
What was I thinking, it's a Victorinox.;)
The edge angle on the main blade was a bit steep for getting a proper zest for cocktails but 20 minutes on my EdgePro took care of that issue.
Thumbs up on this one.:thumbsup::thumbsup:
