A few guys got a bit of a 111 thing going over at the Bears' Den yesterday, so I figured I'd play along too today. As I mentioned there, it's definitely a Soggy Shiro Saturday with rain forecast here on Cape for the entire Memorial Day weekend, forcing our visitors into their cars jamming up our roads. Hopefully they'll spend some time and their dollars in those local businesses that have survived the imposed lockdowns of the last year.

Here's wishing y'all better weather and an enjoyable three day break!

The 501 is on ride-along; because it's almost always in my pocket. I've been using the Iron Pup to access the screws. The fixed blade has gotten limited use - chipped the very tip on a screw I couldn't find (about 15 minutes after this picture). Yeah - I'm using the Iron Pup; but, when it came to the edge of abuse, I wimped out 😕

As irritating as they are I’ve gotta give them credit. It’s pretty amazing to come back a few days later and see they’ve built another one back

This is true. They’re just destructive around here, almost as bad as feral hogs. The timber they destroy pisses me off to the point that I’ll use the .243 to take a few out, then Tannerite their dams again.

But you’re correct, they just keep on keeping on.

Sometimes they’ve got it built back the next morning. It starts flooding the road. And yeah we’ve gone out right at dusk and play a modified adult version of “whack a mole” with them
