EDC XIII Which knife or knives are you carrying today?

If, a few years back, you told me I'd be buying a SOG knife in 2021, I wouldn't have believed you. ;) But I've watched SOG build up their USA-made line and refine the XR lock, and that line and the Seal XR in particular have gotten pretty solid reviews. It's in my wheelhouse aesthetically, the material choices are on point for its intended uses, and flipper + cross-bar lock isn't a common combo (and, from what I've heard, Benchmade's Axis flippers are so-so as flippers), so I decided to give it a shot.

If you like half-pound, overbuilt, tactical monster knives -- which I do! -- this is a good one. I bet the linear inches of jimping on this knife exceed the rest of my collection combined, and it does look a bit funny, but for everything I'm likely to do without gloves on I think it's going to be just fine. (For heavy-duty tasks, this is a knife designed for gloves.) 😁

Wow.Didn't know29y l8rI'll c Narnia. thanku

Posting for the past few days, as I had the computer unplugged and stored in the one downstairs room where we had the portable A/C for the heat wave. While I was on the hike up to the waterfall that I posted a few days back, I was also doing a bit of recon to find a good place to ride out the scorching temps, and I came across one that was ideal. It was about 50 yards off the trail and below a ridge so it was completely secluded. There was a little spot shaded by the canopy and right next to the snow fed river (51 degree water 🥶). It was like sitting in the A/C but out in the wilderness. Even though the surrounding area had temps well above 100-110, the highest temp I clocked sitting here was 82 degrees 😲! We set our camp chairs down in the edge of the water and just chilled all day for every day of the heat wave. We brought food & beverages, and stayed until the sun started to go down. Unfortunately, we couldn't camp due to various obligations. I ended up sleeping on the back deck every night, which was actually quite comfortable until 4AM this morning when I awoke to a temp of 64. Heat wave over I reckon.

Anyhow, I rotated between the Salt and the 20CV LW Manix as my primary folder, but also carried a Case Swayback and SE Dragonfly in pocket.

I'm usually more of a dark beer guy, but decided to go with something lighter for the occasion (actually raided the wifey's for this one)

WingmanEDC Spark for what started out as a reasonably nice Wednesday morning. 45 minutes later and I’m stuck in my car waiting for the rain to let up a bit so I don’t get soaked going into an appointment.

30-plus years living in southwest FL. You’d think by now I’d know to carry an umbrella during the rainy season. Lol…what is it they say about old dogs?

I'd laugh, but the exact same thing happened to me today!

Yesterday, for no particular reason, I went with the Inkosingo over the Turtle I'd originally planned to carry for Ti Tuesday. I'll get off the day/knife consonance riff this time and just carry this F95 coz it's such a great knife and I've been missing having it on me. You know that persistent question that pops up on these forums as to "which knife would you keep if you could have just one"? Like most here, I'd be hard-pressed to choose just one, but the Turtle would definitely make my short list.
