If you're like me, you've spent many hours surrounded by pictures of "gentleman's knives", because you found out that was a thing, and you needed one.
What I eventually decided was that a knife will always be a knife, and the gentle people may still take issue with it, no matter how bejeweled or understated it is.
But a multitool? Ahhh. It's not a knife, and passes right by their cultrophobia. Carbon fiber for a touch of fancy, and a pocket clip. Nothing to see here.
