EDC XIII Which knife or knives are you carrying today?

It’s a fair bit of coin for a knife with their plus symbol on it. Especially when their original iteration of the Epicentre was such a car crash!

This one couldn’t be any more different! Perfect finishing, crisp lines. Drop shut. It’s a class act. It’s a better proportioned knife too in my view. A little slimmer and really comfortable.

Great knife!
I as skeptical but not anymore. This is really well done, and by Lionsteel - NOT China manufacture. There's a few small items that could be better, but this one is an absolute winner.

Got better pictures of the wonky grind? Love that MOP button
Sure. As I said, I still love it. But it does go short, tall, short on the bevel. I will correct at the first sharpening, but hasn’t needed it yet. Very sharp and has held the edge well.

I have a Prototype Bronze Malibu with the same wonky grinds as well, it might be even worse than yours haha. It's actually the sharpest knife out the box I've received funny enough. I was a little upset at first but I stopped really caring, it's a great knife. I have another Bronze Malibu FB group exclusive as well that does have perfect grinds.

Yeah, I’m not losing sleep over mine. Maybe more upset if I couldn’t sharpen it out. But I can, so I will keep enjoying it. The guys at Protech are solid too, so no complaints there.

I think it’s safe for me to say at this stage of the game, the OP Zaan is a grail for me. Like you if I ever get lucky enough to find one, straight into my pocket it goes.
I actually bought this one new back in 2009 or 2010. A local outdoor store was having a 25% off sale of all knives in the store and I just happened to stumble in that day. It has been a favorite ever since, and carried more than any other locking folder I have over the last decade. Smooth action and has always taken a good edge.

Opted to go the “French traditional” route for a wickedly cold Thursday afternoon.

Ok, fine….it was 90 degrees with hardly a cloud in sight. No idea why I felt compelled to lie about the weather. I guess seein’ some of you guys still dealing with the ice and snow made me feel guilty there for a minute.

If it’s any consolation, it ain’t all “fun in the sun” down here in the tropics. Heck, I put my dermatologist’s four kids through college and he named his yacht after me. It was the least he could do….considering I basically paid for the damn thing single-handedly, lol.

Anyway, hope the warm and sunny spring weather finds all of you soon. In the meantime, have a great evening.
