EDC XIII Which knife or knives are you carrying today?

Went to a knife show yesterday, and stopped at an antique mall on the way. Saw this little Utica Cutlery and filed it away in the back of my mind. After a couple of hours at the show and seeing everything under the sun I can order online for much less I headed back to this little guy.
I’m sure there’s a lesson in there somewhere for me.

Thank ya! The photo makes it look not too bad. There is a 4ft drop there and the passenger side is over that drop.
Tow truck came and basically had to lift the truck out. Ice is a crazy thing.
Here is a photo from last night, the ice is intense. Sorry it’s a terrible photo.

I turned very slowly into the driveway. Creeping. Also, I turned right into the driveway. Haha. And slid sideways into the bush. Lol.

The tow truck driver even thought I turned in from the left. Haha.

Glad everyone and everything is ok. Those incidents are scary. Before moving to the beach, on the South Carolina coast, I spent 36 years living in the Appalachian mountains on the Virginia/West Virginia border. This was a constant battle from November to April. I once flipped a truck multiple times after hitting a patch of black ice on a bridge, the day after Thanksgiving. Can’t tell you how many wrecks I worked as a cop because of ice and snow. I love the mountains, but I absolutely don’t miss that stuff. Then again, they close down the whole town here if it rains and the wind blows at the same time 😂

No, I got about 4 hours...my normal gig coming off nights is to crash from about 7-11 and then zombie the rest of the day. Of course the boss texted about 1...so too late to try to go back to bed🤦‍♂️

At least you were able to sleep some. When I worked rotating shifts my routine rolling off was similar. We only did 4 day shifts. Get acclimated just in time to flip. Hopefully there is not a 9/7 nightshift

Night shifter here too, since about 2002. I feel for ya’ brother. No one knows the struggle unless they’ve done it, I’m walking around like a zombie most days. I pulled a long stretch like this a few weeks ago, thinking I would be off and someone decides to call in “sick”, really made me want to choke a coworker, but frankly I was too tired to do so. Hang in there, hope you catch some good rest soon.

My last decade in the working world was split shifts, 2 weeks days/2 weeks nights. A co-worker very accurately described the feeling as being akin to feeling like having a mild flu two weeks out of the month from sleep deprivation. I have great empathy for all on shift work.
