EDC XIII Which knife or knives are you carrying today?

Really digging the coping blade on this 92 I picked up!

What’s the one on the far left, if you don’t mind me asking?

Of course, always happy to talk knives! It's an REK Ember 2.5, this one in cpm CruWear. I most highly recommend them if you can get ahold of one, Josh's geometry and heat treat make for an amazing cutting tool.
Today's carry isn't much different from yesterday's, it worked so well I think I'll be pairing the 92 and Ember a lot 😄 Happy Fridays!

It’s a great looking knife!

I carried my PF818 today. I know Petrified Fish has gotten popular lately but this older model is still my favorite. It was the first self-branded knife from them that I saw and I liked the cut of the blade. It was also cool to see a designer's signature on a sub-$30 knife in Chinese D2. 😮 I've since upgraded the bearings and smoothed up a couple of crisp edges on the scales. It had good action on steel bearings from the box but now running on higher-count ceramics from Skiff, it feels amazing.

I spend a lot of time over that way. mostly at fsec, which aint too far from that area.....
Cool!...Yea, not far at all. I had a few friends that lived down that way and back in college I took a couple of classes down at the UCF Cocoa campus.

Beautiful shots here. NSB I'm guessing? Definitely always enjoy getting over there!

Yessir! Shark bite capital of the world! I may be in the PNW most of the time now, and I certainly have fallen in love with the outdoors here, but at heart I am a New Smyrna Florida boy through and through. I think I'll always hate the cold, and I can't help but chuckle when people on trails out here douse themselves with bug spray and complain about how the mosquitos are "so bad"(little do they know I'm from a place called Mosquito Lagoon for good reason and have been immune since I was 4 🤣).

I'm lucky enough to have access to a condo that's been in the family since before I was born and the place was still mostly dunes (just a couple of miles from the park entrance now). I usually get to stay a couple of weeks per year there right on the beach, and I tell ya', it truly feels like it replenishes my soul. I love the whole area too, not just the beach and lagoon, but the swamps and St. Johns River as well, and the woods in between. I was just telling bigolegator bigolegator how I even miss the thunderstorms (yea it rains plenty here in the winter, but I like my storms violent violent, and love the cooling of the afternoon afterwards down there). So yea, I'll reiterate that I absolutely do feel blessed to be out here in this wonderland, and I love every minute of it; but down there is where I'm truly in my element.

Yes the East Coast of FL is still something special but was even more-so before the population explosion. We used to find cool unpopulated surf spots back in the day (but still had sharks to be wary of)…great times!

Heard that, brother! It's actually a shame what has happened. Even when I just go back a few times a year I'm astonished at the rate of replacement of natural areas with cookie cutter houses and apartment buildings (with retention ponds as "wetlands"). Even our little piece of family farmland that has been in the family for generations is getting encroached upon.

Functional beat-around carry today as I get the lawn mower up and running from its long winter slumber and change the thermostat in my ride (Grand Cherokee).

OK, as I once again change the thermostat in my ride (I'll share a bit of an embarrassing story). I just changed the damn thing two days ago, but I couldn't figure out why it was still overheating and showing symptoms of a bad thermostat. I didn't think it was the water pump, but maybe it was a temp sensor, or perhaps air in the system; I was at a loss and facing the possibility of a repair that was out of my depth. Well, this morning I decided to test the old thermostat with the boiling water trick, to see if it was indeed faulty. I took it out and noticed it was extremely pristine for a part that had been in an engine compartment for at least the 5 years I've owned the vehicle....Turns out, when I was replacing it the other day my lovely assistant the wifey (cough, high ;) ) took the old one from me and handed it back to me as the replacement 🤣 🤣 🤣 . It's my fault, I really should have noticed, and all's well that ends well I reckon. The best part is that she almost threw it away and accused me of hoarding when I said maybe we should hold onto it 🤣 . Anyhow, it's up and running now, which is a relief.

I worked a looong one today, finishing up my first floor bathroom work for now and heading down to the finished basement to start setting the bath cabinets there, with lots of cleaning, dealing with all the packing waste, moving gear, and setting up involved. As I needed a few breaks along the way, I did manage to get some pics of today's carry which is one of my very favorite work users.
