I have rediscovered an amazing knife that really is a classic. The original Kizer Begleiter. Just a tough beater that can do just about everything. I’ve been using it in the kitchen as a paring knife, at the dining room table as a steak-knife, in the garden for whatever needs cutting, and in the office for the challenging chore of cutting up my lunch and afternoon apple. What I especially love about it is the lack of bearings. There really is something to be said about good ol’ bushings. They take whatever crap I toss at them, and after a rinse, and occasional lube, they’re good to go. “Begleiter” really is a great name for this versatile knife… it really is a companion. A a ready one at that…

I've seen people describe heavier bits of gear as feeling like a brick in the pocket but that ashtray is literally made of stone.

It's been a busy week for me, not only work, but knives also.
Finally scored a Shaman in Cruwear, a trade with Infi-del , a BG42 Military that T termite was gracious enough to sell me, and a Medford, well, just because.

Man, that thing sure looks pretty in your pics. I was just thinking it would be so cool if they offered 2 or three different blade shapes that you could get for it, maybe a drop point and a tanto. I just watched a Reate video on it saying they were making a damasteel blade and were thinking about making a tanto, but I don't know if it ever happened.
